New Music: Janine - Friends

According to Janine sometimes it's easier to just be friends.

The singer/songwriter/producer is back with her latest single, "Friends," and she's serving us silky smooth vocals with a real ass message to match. We've all been there. That place where you don't want to let go of your boo, but you know that you probably should... and this New Zealand native effortlessly captures that feeling in a 3-minute song.

"Oh and we could be friends/ Just put your hand on my shoulder/ And I would turn around for you," Janine (minus the Mixtape) sings to her lover.

There's just something about accepting the friend zone with bae that's both heartbreaking and beautiful which Janine does with ease that makes "Friends" such a special song. 

While we're not quite sure what's next for this soulful songstress, hopefully we'll get an album very soon from her! Until then, hit replay on this track because you know you'll want to-- especially after a long day and your nighttime glass of red wine.
