Artist Spotlight: Neila
Introducing to you, Neila!
The South Florida native is a self-proclaimed Alien Princess and we've got to admit, we agree. Everything from her style, her aesthetic, and music style is out of this world. And with her signature green hair, it's hard not to be that convinced this R&B rising star is one-of-a-kind.
Neila recently released her sophomore EP Sage and if you need any soul cleansing, this sonic gift will do with just that. The 5-track project is all about going through hardships, growing, and then then in turn glowing.
Our two favorite tracks from Sage are "Cool" and "Mary," which features a fellow Miami native, Zoey Dollar. Both of these songs feel honest, open, and full of authenticity -- all qualities of what makes a great song to us.
The guitar laden "Cool" feels intimate and transports us to the moment in time when we finally realize that we're worth more than the headache any relationship can put you through.
"You're making me crazy/ Don't have no more patience/ Chasing all these girls, you were better off with me, baby," She sings sweetly. "Sick of running 'round in circles/ You're not even worth it, we should just be cool."
