Not sure, if you're familiar with Button Poetry's YouTube page, but they host amazing artists on their channel that you need to see AND hear. Bianca's piece, "Stay With Me," is as honest as it gets, as she recites the words that we all find hard to say.
Anyone that struggles with anxiety and how it effects both relationships and your everyday life, can completely understand where this young poet is coming from because she #GetsIt.
"The first time I cried--
My body shaking apart, and your hands the steady net
I kept spilling sorry like an accident--
Like a cut tongue
It was the safest way to see you go..."
She takes her words and recreates a feeling that mimics what it feels like when we're no longer in control with her use of metaphors, similes and enjambments with such ease. In this performance, Ms. Phipps literally shows you how it's done.
